Arikok National Park covers a large part of Aruba's wild side, and the vehicle you rent decides how far you can go inside it.
This guide explains Real Deal's rule for the park, which vehicles can reach the caves and the Natural Pool, and what the rental terms still do not allow.
Key takeaways
- Real Deal's cars may only drive as far as the Arikok caves: Fontein, Guadirikiri and Quadirikiri.
- Real Deal's Jeeps (Wrangler and Gladiator) may also drive to the Natural Pool.
- A ticket is needed to enter the park. The Aruba Tourism Authority recommends an organized tour with park rangers.
- Real Deal's rental terms still prohibit driving on white sand, dunes, mud, ocean water, rainwater and large puddles.
- The Honda UTVs are not allowed in the national park.

The Natural Pool by Jeep
The Natural Pool (Conchi) is the reason most people rent a Jeep for Arikok. One driving guide puts it about 50 minutes from Palm Beach, with a 4x4 needed for the last stretch, so a car cannot make it. Real Deal's Jeeps are listed as allowed in Arikok National Park and for off-road driving, and may drive to the Natural Pool.

What the rental terms still forbid
A Jeep may go to the Natural Pool, but the rental terms still limit where it may drive.
White sand, mud, dunes and ocean water
Prohibited. Stuck on white sand, dunes or mud: a $250 fine plus damages and towing.
Rainwater and large puddles
Also prohibited, so skip the trail after heavy rain.
Off-road driving where signs forbid it
Strictly forbidden. Follow the signs in the park.
Collision waiver
It does not cover driving on white sand, dunes, mud, ocean water, rainwater or deep puddles.
Flat tire help
Near town it costs $20, and on an off-road path $50. A Jeep tire replaced after damage is $500.
Fuel
Return the Jeep with the fuel level it left with, or $20 per 1/8 tank applies.

Tickets and tours
Visitors need to buy a ticket to enter Arikok National Park. The Aruba Tourism Authority says a small entrance fee goes towards preserving the park, and it highly recommends booking one of the organized tours, most of which are guided by park rangers. Places such as Moro, Boca Prins and Dos Playa are described as reached on guided walks.
Entry fees and opening hours change by season, so check the Arikok National Park website before you go. Real Deal's rule above applies to its own vehicles.
