The Natural Bridge was Aruba's most photographed landmark until it collapsed in September 2005. What's there now is smaller, and easy to miss if you don't know where to look — but it's still a real stop, with a real approach road worth knowing about before you go.

This is the practical version: what's actually there, what the road is like, and where to park.

Key takeaways

  • The original Natural Bridge collapsed in September 2005; it was over 100 feet long and about 23 feet above the water.
  • The Baby Bridge, right next to where the original stood, is intact and is described as the most accessible of Aruba's natural bridges.
  • The site has a guest shop with food, drinks, restrooms and souvenirs — there's somewhere to stop, not just a viewpoint.
  • The road in is paved most of the way. Real Deal's rental terms don't allow cars, SUVs or vans off-road, so park where the paved road ends and walk the last stretch to the bridge. Jeeps are listed as allowed off-road; ask the team about your route.
  • There's no published entrance fee, opening hours or an exact drive time from a specific hotel for this site, and we're not inventing one.

What's there now

The original Natural Bridge was one of the largest natural bridges of its kind anywhere, spanning more than 100 feet and standing about 23 feet above the sea. It collapsed in September 2005.

Right next to where it stood is the "Baby Bridge" — smaller, but still a real natural rock arch, and the one most visitors actually photograph today. It's described as the most accessible of Aruba's several natural bridges.

The road in

The site is reachable by rental car on paved roads for most of the way. Real Deal's rental terms don't allow cars, SUVs or vans off-road, so park where the paved road ends and walk the last stretch to the bridge. Jeeps are listed as allowed off-road; ask the team about your route.

There's a parking area at the site itself, and the guest shop sells food, drinks and souvenirs — useful, since there isn't much else nearby.

What we haven't confirmed

We don't have a published entrance fee, opening hours or an exact drive time from a specific hotel for this site. None of these are invented here — ask when you book.

Before you go

  • Go earlier in the day.

There's little shade, and the light on the water is better in the morning.

  • Wear shoes you don't mind on rock and sand

the ledge near the bridge isn't paved.

  • Park where the paved road ends.

Real Deal's rental terms don't allow cars, SUVs or vans off-road — walk the last stretch to the bridge, or ask the team about your route in a Jeep.

  • Bring water.

The guest shop has drinks and snacks, but there's no other stop nearby.
